Is Laptop consider a Book?

I just thought it last night, when I was about to sleep. Most ppl say, we cannot step over books, bring books to toilet, cannot kick books, put your feet on books. I know some ppl do that but I don't. Now, most educational information are kept in electronic devices.

So my question is, can I step over my laptop?? (I guess no one wants to kick their laptop). Not only laptop... eg. cds, tape, usb drive, mobile phone, hdd.. too many. Make me aware of walking.
